How often should I wash my sponge?

It really depends on what you're using it for. Regular kitchen dishes, you can go 1-2 weeks. If you're scrubbing an especially dirty area, you might want to wash it right after that use.

Can I wash my sponge in the dishwasher?

We would not recommend it. The dishwasher does not dry it out the way that was washer and dryer does.

How many sponges would you recommend that I own?

Having 2 sponges is good to have one available when the other is being laundered. You may want more, to use in different areas of the house, such as dishes, household cleaning, outdoor cleaning, etc.
